The timeline
A video's timeline is the area where footage, audio, effects, and other media elements are arranged chronologically. It represents the duration of the video from beginning to end and consists of individual elements that are displayed over time.
Creatomate's template editor displays the timeline at the bottom of the interface. Here you can make changes by repositioning elements, managing animations and keyframes, much like any other video editing tool.
What sets Creatomate apart from other video editors is that you're not creating a one-time video. Instead, everything within Creatomate is built with automation in mind. Each component of the video you're designing can be automated in one way or another.
This automation is achieved by giving external tools access to any aspect of the template. From time placement to effects, styles, and content of elements on the timeline – all can be manipulated from an automated workflow that you fully customize. This provides complete freedom to automate any type of video according to your specific requirements.
