How to add a video

Click the Insert icon in the toolbar to upload your video, or press the "i" keyboard shortcut. You can also drag and drop your video files directly into the editor.

Video properties

Use the Trim setting to cut the video to a certain length. Start sets the start time in seconds, and Duration limits the length of the video.

To make the video fit the element's dimensions, use the Fit setting, which can be set to "Cover", "Contain" or "Fill".

To loop the video for the duration of the element, use the Loop setting. By default, the video only plays once.

When you enable the Mute setting, the audio track of the video is removed.

View all properties that aren't specific to video elements on the element properties page.

Video fit

With the Fit setting, you can select the way the video is scaled to fit the element's dimensions. The default option is "Cover". When set to "Contain", use Alignment to align the video within the bounds of the element.

How to make the video duration auto-sized

As with every other element, a video element can be set to a fixed duration, or set to auto to stretch it to the end of the composition. To make the element as long as the video itself, you can set Duration to "media". This is especially useful if the element is dynamic and its video length isn't known in advance.
