Rendering rows

A feed never renders on its own. You select the rows you want and start the renders. Then you follow each row's status until its video is ready.

Creating renders

Each render you create uses the template chosen in the Template dropdown. Select the rows, or all of them, and choose Create Renders. To render with another connected template too, switch the dropdown and create renders again. The feed is saved first, so unsaved changes are included.

You can safely select everything. Rows that already have an up-to-date video are skipped. Only what's missing or changed is rendered, so you don't spend credits twice. The feed does warn you when files are still uploading into cells. A row whose file hasn't arrived yet would render with its previous value.

What a row's status means

Each row shows the status of its video for the template in the dropdown. Hover over a status to see why a row is in that state.

Status What it means
Not rendered The row has no current video: it was never rendered, its video was removed, or it failed and its data has changed since.
Unsaved The row has changes that aren't saved yet.
Rendering The video is being made right now, including the transcription for auto-generated subtitles. The status updates on its own.
Rendered The video is ready and up to date.
Outdated The video was made before the row, the template, or the mapping changed. Render it again to update it.
Failed The video couldn't be made. Select the row to read why.
No credits Your account ran out of credits before the video could start.
Expired The video is older than 30 days and is about to be removed.

To show only the rows in one state, click the Status column header. Unsaved rows are hidden while you do. This is also the quickest way to fix a batch: show the failed rows, fix what their messages point at, select them all, and render again.

Seeing the result

Before a row is rendered, its preview is a close approximation built from the row's data. AI-generated media and subtitles only appear in the real render. Once the row is rendered, the preview shows the actual video. For a failed row, it explains what went wrong.

Downloading and removing videos

Download Renders saves the videos of the selected rows as one ZIP file. The files are named after a column you choose. If some rows have no up-to-date video, the feed warns you first. If you continue, you get the videos that do exist, outdated ones included. If you need links to the videos rather than the files, use Export Data, explained under Importing and exporting data.

Dispose Renders removes the videos of the selected rows, for the template in the dropdown. This can't be undone. You need it in two situations. The first is an expired row. Videos are kept for 30 days, and after that a row needs Dispose Renders before you can render it again. Once its video is gone, the row shows Not rendered. The second is a row that is already up to date and that you want to render once more. Dispose of its video first, then create the render again.

Which version of the template is used

A feed always renders the published version of a template. While you work on the template in draft mode, the feed keeps using the last published version. When you publish, rows rendered with the old version are marked as outdated. That way you can see which ones to render again.
